The Calico Rock Volunteer Fire Department provides fire suppression, rescue, and emergency services to the city and surrounding area. The department is led by Fire Chief Leon Cheatham, appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council.

Our city parks offer walking trails, an 18-hole disc golf course, baseball and softball fields, a playground, basketball courts, a pavilion, and a boat ramp. All parks are free and open to the public. Pavilions are available for reservation.
